Limits on cash withdrawal from savings bank account removed
- All restrictions on cash withdrawal from savings bank account have
been eliminated from today as the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced
it last month.Earlier, it had removed cash withdrawal limits from ATMs
from February 1.
- Last month, the RBI had issued a notification saying that the
withdrawal limit of cash from savings bank accounts will have relaxed to
Rs. 50,000 from February 20 and there would be no restrictions from
March 13.
- The Central Bank had put curbs on cash withdrawals and set a
withdrawal limit from the ATMs and bank accounts after the announcement
the decision to demonetize old Rs. 500 and 1,000 currency notes on
November 8 last year.
NTPC installs India’s Largest Floating Solar PV Plant in Kerala
- NTPC started power generation from India’s largest floating solar power plant at Kayamkulam in Kerala, on Friday.
- The 100 kWp floating solar generation plant, largest of its kind in
India, was indigenously developed as a part of ‘Make In India’
initiative, at Rajiv Gandhi Combined Cycle Power Plant (RGCCPP) in
Kerala’s Kayamkulam district
- Solar panels mounted on floating boards that hold them in place
saves land usage and has been found to be efficient than the ones
installed on land.
Arunachal Govt launches new scheme Adarsh Gram Yojana
- The Government of Arunachal Pradesh has launched a new scheme –
Adarsh Gram Yojana – to (or “intending to”) reaching to the poor people
in rural areas.
- The program has launched in line with the basic philosophy of the Prime Minister – Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas.

Bangladesh declares March 25 as ‘Genocide Day.’
- Bangladesh’s unanimously adopted a resolution declaring March 25 as
Genocide Day, in remembrance of the atrocities carried out by the
Pakistani Army on the night of March 25, 1971.
- The Pakistan Army swooped on unarmed civilians on the night of March
25, 1971, to crush the Bengali rebellion following the refusal by the
military leadership to accept the election results of 1970 in which the
Awami League got the thumping majority. ‘Operation Searchlight’ began in
the first hours of March 25 in Dhaka.

Intel to buy MobileMe for $ 15.3 billion
- Intel has announced a deal under which it will buy Israeli
technology company Mobileye for $15.3 billion. Mobileye provides
anti-collision, driver assistance, and autonomous driving solutions.
Intel will buy all the shares of Mobileye at $63.54 per share in cash.
- The acquisition will combine the computer vision expertise of
Mobileye with the high-performance computing of Intel. And to create
automated driving solutions from the cloud through the network to the
car.

Punjab wins 2017 Santosh Trophy of Football
- Punjab has won the 71st Santosh Trophy football tournament by
defeating Railways by 2-1 goals. It was Punjab’s overall ninth Santosh
Trophy after it had earlier won it in 1970, 1974, 1980, 1984, 1985,
1987, 2006 and 2007.
- For Punjab, both goals were scored by Rajbir Singh (16th and 61st
minutes). For Railways, a goal has scored by Rajesh Soosanayakam (59th
minute).
